& Hammer Baking Soda. To deodorize carpet, sprinkile Arm & Hammer
Baking Soda lightly over the dry carpet, let sit for fifteen minutes, and
then vacuum up. The baking soda neutralizes odors.
Bounce. To get rid of a stale smell in your home, place a sheet of
Bounce in your vacuum cleaner bag before vacuuming the carpet.
Downy Fabric Softener. To help your carpet stay clean, smell more
fragrant, and feel softer, add two ounces Downy Fabric Softener and fourteen
ounces water in a sixteen-ounce trigger- spray bottle and spray a fine mist
of the solution over your car pet after vacuuming. The antistatic elements
in the Downy Fabric Softener make vacuuming up pet hair and lint effortless.
Gain Powder Laundry Detergent. To refresh carpets, lightly sprinkle
Gain Powder Laundry Detergent on the carpet and then vacuum up the powder.
The fragrance in the laundry detergent leaves the carpet smelling fresh.
Heinz White Vinegar. To deodorize carpets, add one cup Heinz White
Vinegar to your carpet cleaner when shampoo in your carpets. The carpet will
smell like vinegar for an hour or two after cleaning, but once the smell
fades, any other odors in the carpet will be gone too.
Kingsford’s Corn Starch. Deodorize carpets by sprinkling one-quarter
to one-half cup Kingsford’s Corn Starch on the carpet. Let sit for thirty
minutes and then vacuum clean. The cornstarch absorbs odors.
