Downy Fabric Softener. To soften a
new pair of jeans, fill a bucket with water, add one capful Downy Fabric
Softener, and soak the jeans in the solution overnight. In the morning, pour
the contents of the bucket into your washing machine, run it through the
regular cycle, and dry the jeans.
Jet-Dry. To soften a new pair of
jeans, fill your washing machine with water add four ounces Jet-Dry, soak
the jeans overnight, then run through the rinse cycle and dry. The Jet-Dry
does double duty in the washing machine, simultaneously cleaning soap scum
from the tubes and pipes in the washing machine.
Morton Salt. To soften a new pair of
jeans, toss the jeans in your washing machine, add one-half cup Morton Salt
and your regular detergent, and wash the jeans. The sodium in the salt will
soften the jeans.
