1. Sled. Pull a small child (or a load of firewood) over the
snow in a large cardboard box.
cover. Keep dirt out of
a small appliance, power
tool, or typewriteró cut off the flaps of a box, put
decorative adhesive plastic, such as Con Tact, on the sides and top,
and use as a cover.
3. Table guard. Cut a
large flat piece to protect work surfaces from ink, paint, glue, or
knife and scissor nicks.
4. Mechanicís helper.
Keep a piece under your carís engine in the garage or carport. Not
only will it keep the floor clean by catching drips, but the color
and location of the leaked fluids on the cardboard will help a
mechanic identify potential problems.
5. Gift of suspense.
Place a friendís gift inside a series of increasingly bigger
cardboard boxes, each one specially wrapped.
6. Bed tray. Remove the top flaps and cut lap-wide arches
from the two long sides; cover the top with attractive adhesive
plastic, such as Con-Tact.
7. In tray. Cut off the
top and one large panel from a cereal box; slice the short sides at
