1. Shampoo. A mild
dishwashing detergent cleans hair as well as many shampoos.
2. Surface cleaner.
Dissolve ¼ cup of automatic dishwasher detergent in 1 gallon of hot
water. Apply the mixture to floors, walls, stoves, fridges, glass or
porcelain. Wipe off the mixture with a dry cloth.
3. Stain remover. Make a
paste with small amounts of automatic dishwasher detergent and
water. Apply the paste to a stain for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse and
wash as usual.
4. Auto cleaner. Fill a
nearly empty detergent bottle with water and keep in the glove
compartment for emergency treatment of spills.
5. Puncture finder. Mix with a little warm water and brush on
a leaky tire or tube; the bubbles will indicate the exact location of
