ChapStick. To clean a scuff mark from a CD or DVD, rub a little
ChapStick lip balm over the mark and buff clean.
Colgate Regular Flavor Toothpaste. To clean compact disks and fix
skips, rub a dab of Colgate Regular Flavor Toothpaste over the shiny side of
the disk and buff clean.
Peanut Butter. To clean a scuff mark from a CD or DVD, rub a dab of
Jif Peanut Butter (creamy, not chunky) on the disk with a soft cloth and
wipe clean. The oils in the peanut butter clean the disk.
Coffee Filters. To buff a CD or DVD, use a Mr. Coffee / Filter to
wipe it clean, starting from the center and working out to the edge. Made
from 100 percent virgin paper, Mr. Coffee Filters do a great job cleaning
disks without leaving behind any lint.
Pledge. To clean a scuff mark from a compact disc that skips, spray a
small amount of lemon Pledge on the disk and buff clean.
Purell Instant Hand Sanitizer. To clean compact disks and fix skips,
put a few drops of Purell Instant Hand Sanitizer, the soap- less,
antibacterial hand sanitizer, on the disk and buff clean.
Turtle Wax. To clean superficial scratches and put an end to skips
from a compact disc, use a drop of Turtle Wax and buff clean.
