Procter-Silex Iron. A dent in wooden furniture results when the
moisture is pushed out of the wood. To fix those dents, use a fine pin to
prick a few holes in the finish so that moisture can penetrate into the
wood. Place a towel over the dent, dampen the towel with water in the spot
over the dent, and run a hot steam iron over it for a few minutes, being
careful not to scorch the table. The dent will disappear as it reabsorbs the
moisture. If necessary, touch up the pinholes with varnish. |
