Crisco All-Vegetable Shortening. To clean ink stains from vinyl,
apply a dab of Crisco All-Vegetable Shortening to the stain and wipe clean.
Gillette Foamy. To clean cotton upholstery, apply a quick squirt of
Gillette Foamy shaving cream to the stain and rub gently with a damp cloth.
The condensed soap lifts out stains.
Heinz White Vinegar. To remove stubborn stains from furniture
upholstery, apply Heinz White Vinegar directly to the stain and then wash
clean as directed by the manufacturer’s instructions.
Pink Pearl Eraser. To clean minor marks on cotton upholstery, rub
lightly with a Pink Pearl Eraser.
Skin So Soft Body Lotion. To clean ink from vinyl surfaces, apply
Skin So Soft Body Lotion and wipe clean.
Mule Team Borax. To remove stubborn stains from furniture upholstery,
blot up the spill, sprinkle 20 Mule Team Borax to cover the area, let dry,
and vacuum. (Before treating, make sure the fabric dye is colorfast by
testing an unexposed area with a paste of 20 Mule Team Borax and water.) For
wine and alcohol stains, dissolve one cup 20 Mule Team Borax in one quart
water. Sponge in the solution, wait thirty minutes, shampoo the spotted area
with the hose attachment of a steam cleaner, let dry, and vacuum.
WD-40. To remove chewing gum, crayon, tar, and Silly Putty from most
surfaces, spray on WD-40, wait, and wipe.
