McCormick Black Pepper. McCormick Black Pepper does an excellent job
keeping raccoons, squirrels, dogs, or cats away from garbage cans—without
harming the animals. These creatures all share a highly sensitive sense of
smell, and simply sprinkling the area around your garbage cans with pepper
will keep them far away. Want proof this trick works? Whenever you go to a
fancy restaurant and the waiter comes over to put pepper on your salad,
you’ll notice there are no raccoons or squirrels around.
Parsons’ Ammonia. Sprinkling Parsons’ Ammonia around garbage cans
fends off invading dogs, cats, raccoons, and squirrels. The pungent fumes
repel animals.
