How to fix a concrete chip-out and concrete crack

Step 1. Drive a form board next to the sidewalk and undercut the broken section with a cold chisel and hammer. This will create a modest keyway that will give the patch something extra to grip.

 

Step 2. Just prior to applying the patch, brush some clean water onto the broken area to help the patch bond better.
