Plastic ceiling medallions
are lightweight, easy to install, and look exactly like traditional
plaster medallions once they are painted. Medallions are available in
different sizes and patterns. Some are even designed to allow a
chandelier chain to fit through a center hole. The typical places to
install a medallion are in the center of the living room ceiling or over
the table in the dining room. But they can be used in other areas too,
like hallways and near entry doors.
Step 1. Medallions are usually
installed in the center of the room. Measure the same distance from
parallel walls, and mark the ceiling to find the center point. Then hold
the medallion on this point, and make a few light pencil marks around
its circumference. Use these to accurately position the medallion during
installation. |
