Clorox Bleach. To
clean butcher block and prevent bacteria from breeding, wash the
cutting board with hot sudsy water and rinse clean. Then apply a
solution of three tablespoons Clorox Bleach per gallon of water,
wait two minutes, and then rinse clean again.
Crisco All-Vegetable Shortening.
To oil butcher block, put a dab of Crisco All-Vegetable Shortening
on a sheet of paper towel, rub it into the wood, and then wipe
Pam Cooking Spray.
To preserve butcher block, spray the cutting board with Pam Cooking
Spray, use a paper towel to rub the oil into the wood, and then wipe
Wesson Corn Oil. To oil
butcher block, put a few drops of Wesson Corn Oil on a paper towel,
rub it into the wood, and then wipe clean.
