Lawns > Garden Hoses

Con-Tact Paper. To make finding the end of a hose easier, wrap the last six inches of your garden hose with Con-Tact Paper in a contrasting color.

Forster Toothpicks and Scotch Packaging Tape. To repair a punctured garden hose, insert a Forster Toothpick into the hole, snap it off flush with the hose’s outer skin, and then wrap a strip of Scotch Packaging Tape securely around the spot. The wooden toothpick will absorb water, swelling to seal the hole.

Wrigley’s Spearmint Gum. Patch a hole in a garden hose with a wad of Wrigley’s Spearmint Gum (well chewed to remove all the sugar) and let it dry.
