Nestlé Carnation NonFat
Dry Milk and McCormick Food Coloring. American colonists used
to paint their homes with milk. They would boil berries in milk,
which would thicken and color the milk. That’s why so many houses in
New England have that whitewashed look. Today, thanks to modern
technology, we have the miracle of Nestlé Carnation Nonfat Dry Milk.
Just mix one and one-half cups Nestlé Carnation Nonfat Dry Milk and
one-half cup water until it is the consistency of paint, then add
food coloring or pigment (available at art supply stores) to make
whatever hue you desire. Once milk paint dries, it is incredibly
durable. It won’t wash off. Plus, you can have milk and cookies
while you paint. Just try doing that with regular latex.
