Painting > Rollers

Glad Trash Bags. To avoid having to clean paint out of a roller tray, before filling with paint, place the roller tray inside a kitchen-size Glad Trash Bag and fold the excess bag under the tray. After painting, pour any excess paint back into the can, carefully remove the trash bag by turning it inside out, and discard.

Pringles. To clean a paint roller, fill an empty Pringles can with solvent, put the roller inside, and seal the can with the plastic lid. Shake the can, let sit for two hours, then remove the roller and wash with soapy water.

Reynolds Wrap. To avoid having to clean paint out of a roller tray, before filling it with paint, line the roller tray with Reynolds Wrap, overlapping all four sides. After painting, pour any excess paint back into the can, carefully roll up the aluminum foil, and throw it away.

Ziploc Storage Bags. To remove a roller cover filled with paint from the roller handle without getting paint all over yourself, place a large Ziploc Storage Bag over the roller cover and pull the roller cover off the handle. If you donít wish to clean the roller cover for next time, seal the bag shut and discard.

Ziploc Storage Bags. To save a wet roller saturated with oil based paint overnight, place the entire roller inside a Ziploc Storage Bag and store it in the freezer. The cold temperature in the freezer prevents the paint from drying. When youíre ready to paint again, defrost the roller for an hour or more.
