Kingsford Charcoal Briquets. A cup of untreated Kingsford Charcoal Briquets set in the back of the refrigerator absorbs odors. For really bad odors, place cups of charcoal briquets on different shelves.

Maxwell House Coffee. To cover up unpleasant odors inside a refrigerator, place a bowl filled with Maxwell House Coffee grounds on the back shelf The coffee grounds simultaneously absorb foul odors and mask them.

McCormick Pure Vanilla Extract and Johnson & Johnson Cotton Balls. To mask the odors inside a refrigerator, dampen a Johnson & Johnson Cotton Ball with McCormick Pure Vanilla Extract (or lemon or peppermint extract] and place it on a saucer inside the refrigerator. Or wipe down the inside walls of the refrigerator with a sponge saturated with vanilla extract.

Tidy Cats. To deodorize a clean, empty, unplugged refrigerator, pour unused Tidy Cats in a flat box, place it on the middle shelf; and shut the door for five days. The cat box filler absorbs moisture and musty, lingering odors.

USA Today. To deodorize a clean, empty, unplugged refrigerator, crumple pages of USA Today into balls and fill the appliance with them. The newsprint absorbs nasty odors.
