clean the pipes and tubes in a coffeemaker, fill the water chamber
with water, drop in four Alka-Seltzer tablets) and run the
coffeemaker through a regular cycle. The ascorbic acid in
Alka-Seltzer cleans the system. Then run clean water through the
Coca-Cola. To clean
a stained glass coffeepot, fill the coffee pot with Coca-Cola, let
stand overnight, and then rinse clean. The phosphoric acid and
ascorbic acid in Coke clean the grime from the pot.
Efferdent. Fill a
stained glass coffeepot with water, drop in two Efferdent tablets,
let sit for twenty minutes, then rinse clean. The denture cleansing
tablets clean the gunk from the glass.
Jet-Dry. To clean
stains and calcium build-up from a coffee- maker, pour four ounces
Jet-Dry into your coffeemaker, fill the rest of the way with water,
and let sit overnight.
Morton Salt. To
clean all the baked-on coffee from the bottom of a glass coffeepot,
pour in enough Morton Salt to cover the bottom of the glass, fill
the coffeepot with ice cubes, and then holding the pot handle, shake
the pot back and forth for several minutes so the ice and salt swirl
around the pot, scrubbing the inside of the glass. Rinse clean.
