Washers and Dryers > Ink Stains

Alberto V05 Hair Spray. To remove an ink spot from clothes, spray Alberto VOS Hair Spray on the stain, blot until the stain comes up, and wash. The acetone in Alberto VOS Hair Spray removes indelible marker and ballpoint pen marks from fabrics.

Colgate Regular Flavor Toothpaste. Squeeze Colgate Regular Flavor Toothpaste on the ink stain, add some water, scrub, and rinse thoroughly.

Fantastic. If you accidentally leave a pen in a pocket and get ink stains all over the inside of the drum of the dryer, unplug the machine, spray the stains with Fantastic, and rub gently with a cloth. Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Then toss some clean rags in the dryer, plug in the machine again, and run the dryer for twenty minutes.

Huggies Baby Wipes. To clean ink stains from fabric, wipe the spot with a Huggies Baby Wipe.

Purell Instant Hand Sanitizer. Saturate the ink stain with Purell Instant Hand Sanitizer and blot with a paper towel. Repeat if necessary.

ReaLemon. While the ink stain is still wet, saturate the spot with ReaLemon lemon juice (which causes the ink stain to spread) and immediately launder the garment with regular detergent in cold water.

Soft Scrub Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser. To clean ink stains from clothes, spray the spot with Soft Scrub Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser, wait a few minutes, and then launder as usual.

Tide. To clean ink stains from the inside of the drum of the dryer, unplug the machine, mix equal parts liquid Tide laundry detergent and water, and use a soft, clean cloth to apply the mixture to the stains and scrub gently. Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Then toss some clean rags in the dryer, plug in the machine again, and run the dryer for twenty minutes.
